Facebook is under attack and it isn’t pretty. Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook, is being accused of stealing the source code and business plan of ConnectU, a social network with a similar strategy to Facebook. According to VentureBeat, “The plaintiffs have demanded that Facebook be shut down and that full control of the site – and its profits – be turned over to them.” The shocking part about this case is that it started 3 years ago. While it is nothing new, it has still been dragging on. Both sides have powerful legal teams and there are big stakes. Without having this case resolved, it is going to be extremely challenging for Facebook to file for an IPO. My guess is that there is going to have to be a pretty large settlement at the end of this that covers the costs of the plantiffs’ lawyers and compensation for stealing the concept.

execution is 9/10ths of the law. as great as connectu's idea was back in the day, it wasn't exactly difficult to conceive or copy. friendster was already out of the bag. if your idea is so great, code it yourself or make the key developers full-fledged partners. looks like connectu is litigating themselves a call option on the work of someone they didn't formally contract or pay. code theft is a legitimate beef. we'll have to await the economic expert testimony on how it translates into equity in fb.

They should shut down a lot of child pornography websites not some website where people are meeting they oold buddies and new people…Why they always has to shut down that a lot of people are happy with…Normal people, not some pedophiles who use child pornography websites…Keep the facebook on, shut down the pornography websites!

I feel that facebook should not be shut down. I will like …omg its shouldnt. There are many other child pornography sites to worry about than to focus on something petty like this. Dont Shut facebook down.

I really hope that it dose not happen. I have about 20 – 30 friends from 2 diffrent schools that I use to go to school with some I may not have been close friends with but would just say hi from time to time ect. And facebook is my only means to contact them right now. If it were not for facebook and them being on the site I would not have reconnected with them this year or at all.

i totally disagree with this whole facebook as it cause to many problems in to many life as there are more and more relationships failing and collapsing due to this, more and more people are using this site for finding old flames and havin affairs which is causing a social down fall in everyday life and it may not be the case with everybody right now but it will be if this site isnt closed down asap

I have recently got in touch with old friend that I haven't spoke to in 16 years. Anyway people are going to have affairs weather or not facebook is around we are adults who make our own choices get a grip on reality

i think that facebook has lost it over the past few weeks people are leaving as thay are not happy with the way the site is run and some of the apps thay have on there are driving people away
so without the people what is facebook nothing .

Facebook cares about people.. it created supreme service.. problem is if Facebook is shutdown.. there wont be another service like this.. I think Facebook wont be touched.. and rather get improved buy re-writing its application policy. and closing all hate groups.. and porn-related activities

Facebook is a wonderful FREE service so just leave it alone. I saw that it got blamed for some attack that was inspired by SouthPark or family guy or some stupid show. I say shut down southpark instead.

People are very addicted to a Social Networking Site and they can spend more than 10 hours or even 24 hours a day on their computer and posting bunch of stuff on their facebook walls, links, tweet, daily stuff,etc. I think FACEBOOK and other social networking site need to SHUT DOWN ASAP….THIS IS TERRIBLE…ALL THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY SHOULD DO NOW THESE DAYS .FIND SOMETHING ELSE BETTER TO DO go out NETWORKING ONE ON ONE and get a REAL SOCIAL LIFE not on the internet. FACEBOOK IS GONNA CAUSE BRAIN ABNORMAL AND other DAMAGE TO THE HUMANS HEALTH.

gues what peeps theres alot of sites ppl are messing around with on thier relationships wake up ppl try quest,com udultfriendfinder mate1 and these are only a couple that i know of out of hundreds that somebody can just click into and ive monitered and watched for 10 years how ppl can fool around on eachother and get away with it anybody can be one click away from a quick lay idk whats gonna happen with face book but dammit out of a hundred ppl useing fb yea 20 of them are bad but the other 80 are having a blast talking , playing games reconnecting and loving it so just pay the ppl whatthey deserve and back off cuz i gotta cuz im a bad ass farmer in farmville and i have a huge family
