In September of last year we covered the launch of a vitaminwater program which enabled Facebook users to create a new flavor. Today the company is announcing the release of “vitaminwater connect”, a black cherry-lime flavor made with caffeine. vitaminwater connect also happens to be the first Facebook created drink. 4 finalists and a grand prize winner were selected, each winning a $5,000 prize. The flavor will be released in March of 2010. For now you’ll have to wait in anticipation, drooling at the idea of fresh vitaminwater splashing against your lips!
The bottle has the following text included on it:
we caught you. no use denying it. your fingerprints are all over this bottle. after connecting on Facebook, you voted on the flavor & designed the label—it was great having you do all the work! and since you’ve been so busy pretending not to notice friend requests for about 3 days, posting pics of events (that you’re still at), and clicking through photos of ‘friends’ you barely know (ever get nervous they can tell?), better crack open this bottle. it’s got 8 key nutrients from vitamin a to zing plus caffeine to give you some extra energy… because based on last night’s pics, it looks like you’ve got some serious untagging to do.
This is the first Facebook beverage that we’ve seen launch, and I’m sure the company is hoping to be able to sell a fair number of the vitaminwater connect bottles. We’re hoping they send a few over this way! The vitaminwater Facebook Page is one of the most actively managed brand pages on all of Facebook. With over 1 million fans, the company consistently updates the content within their Page as well as launching new applications within their Facebook Page.
Will you be purchasing any of the new vitaminwater connect drinks once they go on sale in March?

"it’s got 8 key nutrients from vitamin a to zing plus caffeine to give you some extra energy… " …wonder if they meant to write "vitamin a to zinC" on the label instead of "zing." Then again, maybe it's got 1/3 jolt cola in it and zing is correct. Have to wait and see how hard it is to fall asleep after drinking a bottle or two.

I like it. I was hoping to win, but I applaud the winner.

They DID write "a to zinc", the one error is in the capitalization of facebook. Facebook doesn't capitalize facebook unless it's at the beginning of a sentence.
Nice shoop there buddy, the label doesn't read around the bottle, just straight across. You can read it clearly.
Promising flavor, lackluster google coverage. Bury this.
