Vimeo Launches Facebook Connect Support

-Vimeo Logo-Yesterday, Vimeo officially launched support for Facebook Connect. Over the coming days, I’m guessing we’ll see numerous more websites launch full support for Connect. The Vimeo integration is extremely simple. Any videos that you “like” or upload will automatically be published to the feed. This implementation is probably one of the simplest ways to integrate and by taking advantage of this integration, Vimeo will immediately get more exposure to thousands and possibly millions of individuals.

Just as companies were announcing their Facebook application last year, announcing support for Facebook Connect is going to be the hot thing to do. This time around integration is simpler but more substantial as activities around the web will now result in news feed stories being published in your profile. This naturally makes websites a whole lot more viral and I’m assuming that’s why Vimeo launched their Connect support.

Vimeo is the first video site to launch support but Hulu is expected to launch their own support extremely soon. If you want to integrate your Vimeo account with Facebook, simply login to Vimeo, go to your settings page and click on the “Facebook Connect” button.

  1. It seems that signing up with Facebook Connect on Vimeo is still… well, not working. I don't have a Vimeo account, so it offers to let you log in/sign up with Connect, but it doesn't work. I get an "Invalid Argument."

    Anyone else having this problem?

  2. Strangely enough you can't register with Connect, you have to sign in before you use Connect

  3. Actually, it's seemingly a Firefox 3 problem, just to let people know; registering with Connect worked fine in Safari. I'll be sure to send them an e-mail about that…
