The Facebook Book Gets Sold

Earlier this weekend, the New York Observer broke the news that two recent Harvard graduates had sold a satirical book about Facebook to Hary N. Abrams Inc for around $50,000. The book is going to be entirely made up of “jokes, anecdotes, and ‘fanciful stories.’” I am definitely going to be one of the first people to purchase this book. It shows how Facebook has rapidly become a cultural icon since their explosive growth began a little less than a year ago. According to the Observer:

Mr. Lushing, an alumnus of the Harvard Lampoon, said the book will be made up of short, abstract humor pieces not unlike the kind that have historically shown up in the Lampoon. “The best metaphor,” he said, “would be if the Lampoon had done a Facebook number.”

Sounds like a great coffee table book!
