The group buying startup ChompOn has calculated the value of a Facebook posting in driving social shopping — at $14, it’s nearly three times what a Tweet is worth. And likes are worth $8.
It’s about time that one of the earliest pioneers of online commerce opened up shops on Facebook. Today Amazon’s subsidiary Quidisi has opened up a few stores selling household items on the social network.

Just in time for all of the after-Christmas sales, OtherPage has launched a social shopping application that earns you money when you share deals with your Facebook friends.
Shoppers on Facebook like to buy more, spend more, and shop more – at least according to the latest numbers from private shopping site Kembrel. Kembrel has seen increased sales on its Facebook-only shopping app compared to its dot.com website, indicating that the return on investment for an ecommerce organization to establish a social presence could be quite high.

Jesse Pickard and Shiv Singh over at Avenue A | Razorfish have put together a presentation which highlights the future of Facebook Connect as integrated with e-retailers. The presentation highlights the potential for targeting influencers based on the number of friends they have, something I previously speculated about back in March. Another item they highlight is the potential for targeting product advertisements based on the interests listed in your profile.
