Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg will join other technology executives like Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Google’s Eric Schmidt at a San Francisco meeting tonight convened by President Barack Obama, mostly to discuss job creation and other economic stimuli.

A few days ago we mentioned some of the ways in which third party sites and services were tapping into Facebook Connect for interactive ways in which to experience today’s inauguration of President-elect Barak Obama. But there are a number of applications on Facebook’s platform that are doing the same.

This morning we hear of Watch Together’s special version of its Facebook app, called Obama Together, enabling Facebook users to host their own inauguration party online. Users can host a live video chat with their Facebook friends, while watching the live stream Ustream coverage of today’s inauguration.

With the war in Gaza we’ve seen some of the uglier sides of social networking, where users can take a democratic platform of sharing information to attempt to manipulate and promote their own agendas. But today we see a blog post from Facebook that features guest author Mike Honda, a U.S. Congressman representing the 15th Congressional District of California. Facebook asked Honda to do the guest post on the company blog in order to share the ways in which he’s already been using the social network to share the experience of President-elect Obama’s upcoming inauguration.
