“My Mom’s On Facebook” Song Goes Viral

Mom Friend Request IconWhile people have been wondering whether or not users would stop using the site after their mom’s have joined, one group of users decided to make a video about the topic. The result is the “My Mom’s On Facebook” song which has generated close to 200,000 views since Tuesday. The song is pretty clever but it also appears to conclude that despite having a parent on Facebook, most users will continue using the site.

Are either of your parents on Facebook? Does interacting with them make you want to quit the site or will you continue using the site despite being connected to your tech-savvy parent(s)?

  2. My dad is 81 on FB, but he hasn't friended me yet. Many members of my community are lamenting that their parents have joined. A few even spy on their high school/college-aged children this way.

  8. This song is halarious! I know a lot of younger people that don't like their parents seeing what they do and say on facebook but thats what the 'privacy' option is for. This is an accurate discription though. Great job!
