Any data on whether these users are actually signing up for the first time on a mobile phone? or are they existing PC users who are being expanded to the mobile? would also be interesting to know web vs native app comparisons…

a well made application, like the iPhone's one i'm using to access facebook is a strong driver to switch tons of users to the mobile experience. well done!

Now a days everything is going miniature and mobile. Facebook works well on Opera Mini which I use one of my pretty old mobiles

=> That's a typo: The increase is 33%.

Faster only in percentages, not in actual numbers. But I wouldn't be surprised if FB mobile catches up to the web version in usage. Since it's so much more convenient for casual users, mobile usage might actually exceed browser usage in the future.
