This morning the Michael Jackson fan page officially surpassed Barack Obama, to become the most popular page on Facebook. Over the past week, Michael Jackson’s page has grown from 80,000 fans to over 6.4 million, generating the largest response on a Facebook page ever. The page has continued to grow at a rate of around 20 fans per second and even quicker during peak traffic hours.
With the numerous memorials for Michael Jackson this week, one can only guess that the page will continue to grow at a rapid pace. Michael Jackson’s Facebook page has become a virtual memorial for the celebrity, and appears to be the single largest gathering of fans on the web. Despite a large volume of traffic from Google, the MySpace profile of Michael Jackson has only a fraction of the number of fans on Facebook.
The Facebook page for Michael Jackson will soon become one of the largest single followings for any public figure anywhere on the web. While Twitter has been receiving a large amount of buzz, the most popular user, Ashton Kutcher, has just over 2.6 million followers and there doesn’t appear to be any Michael Jackson account to keep fans up to date on the latest news.
The real question now is how large will Michael Jackson’s fan page become? If you haven’t become a fan of Michael Jackson on Facebook you can become a fan now.

Michael you were without a doubt the greatest performer to ever live! May you sing in the heavenly choir with the angels and your legacy worldwide will live on forever.

I grew up listening to Michael. It's very very sad to hear and see the media keep exploiting his death. It is unfortunate that Michael had to surrender to having Doctors administer certain drugs in order for him function. A lot of people broke Michael's heart. It showed over and over that all he wanted was to make a difference in the world. Yes he was eclectic and different but a heart of gold. He loved children and gave to them because he knew what it was like to never be enough for anyone. The media completely turned their back on him during the child molestation allegations. I truly believe in my heart that Michael was innocent and being around kids is what truly made him happy because they are pure, innocent and not voltures that always want a piece of him! Let him rest and leave his family alone and give them the time to be able to properly lay him to rest!

It's sad that so many people only appreciate him when he's gone…but better late than never.
Finally, people are actually trying to understand the person he was and that he has always been nothing but a good human being. Talented, of course, but also a very very gentle soul.
Anyone who joins the MJ page should read the article in the discussion board: "My Hero Ain't Molest Them Bitch Ass Kids" by Phonte
It's a must read.

While the focus today, tomorrow and for the next God-knows-how-many-days will be the death of a pop culture icon; while many will mourn, wail and quite literally make fools of themselves over it and while as many will speak endlessly about it, allow me, if only for a moment, to remind us all that others have died this month; others whose lives were cut short; others who leave behind loved ones and whose families will dearly miss them; families who’ll suffer with much more dignity and honor than we’ll be exposed to on the tube in the coming days.
Yes… it’s true… we’ve suffered a great loss… but forgive me when I tell you that I’m not talking about the “king of pop music “.
These American military members died in Iraq this month:
Sergeant Justin J. Duffy
Specialist Christopher M. Kurth
Specialist Charles D. Parrish
Lance Corporal Robert D. Ulmer
Staff Sergeant Edmond L. Lo
Sergeant Joshua W. Soto
Captain Kafele H. Sims
Specialist Chancellor A. Keesling
And these members of our U.S. Armed Forces died in Afghanistan this month:
Sergeant Ricky D. Jones
Specialist Rodrigo A. Munguia Rivas
Command Master Chief Petty Officer Jeffrey J. Garber
1st Sergeant John D. Blair
Sergeant Paul G. Smith
Staff Sergeant Joshua Melton
Sergeant 1st Class Kevin A. Dupont
Specialist Jonathan C. O’Neill
Chief Warrant Officer Ricky L. Richardson Jr.
Specialist Eduardo S. Silva
Lance Corporal Joshua R. Whittle
Major Rocco M. Barnes
Major Kevin M. Jenrette
Staff Sergeant John C. Beale
Specialist Jeffrey W. Jordan
Specialist Jarrett P. Griemel
Specialist Roberto A. Hernandez I
Sergeant Jasper K. Obakrairur
Staff Sergeant Jeffrey A. Hall
Private 1st Class Matthew D. Ogden
Private 1st Class Matthew W. Wilson
Let’s remember and honor this day those whose deaths are truly impacting.
God rest them and God comfort their loved ones they’ve left behind.
And may God use their deaths to remind us all of the shortness of our days.

I just wish there were more Peter Pans like you. You did so much for everyone, when everyone took an advantage of you and what you stood for. I’m hoping that there is a lessoned learned in this tragedy. Love you miss you.

Wow! I did not realise that Michael’s story was so HUGE! MJ’s memorial was such a moving tribute to “the greatest entertainer that ever lived.” Despite the ills in our world, it’s such an amazing rush to smile at the good therein. My prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time. Grace, peace and love to all.

I remember when I first knew Michael and that was when I was 8 years old back in my country in Iraq, when I entered my cousins room and it was full of Miachael Jackson's posters. I asked them who is this and they said why this is Miachael Jackson the greatest singer the world and since that day he has entered my heart and will never leave it.. I just want to say that he is ANNOCENT of all the malicious accusation that has been thrown on him and all I can say is may GOD our Lord Jesus Christ forgive them.. Finally I would like to say that the Assyrian people are praying for the Jackson family and may God give them courage and strength in this time of hardships…
God bless all the people from all over the world whether your WHITE or BLACK, MUSLIM or CHRISTIAN, JIWISH, HINDU or Buddist… AMEN…………………

WOW !!! this guy is pure amazing!!! even after his death, he's still making records. Michael Jackson has left me heart broken bcoz of his death. but i still love with all the little pieces. he has entered my heart like a speeding train. i will never forget , but treasure , the minute i knew him. the first song i ever heard of him was 'Beat It'. straight away i loved his Voice, His Music, , his Video , his Dance Moves, His Hair, His EVERYTHING!! and thats how i got to know him, but i knew him even more through watching interviews of him, concerts, songs, videos, the 'MoonWalker' Movie he did. and he just grew and grew and grew in my heart even more, and till the day i die , he'll still grow even more.
This is a message for him that i wish i got to say it to him face to face :
'Michael Jackson, I Love You More Than You Can Ever Love The Most LoveAble Thing In Your Whole Entire Life!!!!!!!'.
You Were My Inspiration , My Idol , My Star , My Earth Angel ! Even his songs described how he felt. i love him.
i read sumwhere bout them ppl that hate MJ, saying that he is not God, get over his death.
WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, its true he wasnt god coz there is only ONE God….BUT , He wAs an angel from God. God sent him here so that he can change the world. which he did coz he is a Gifted Soul from God.
if i can, i will sit here my whole life writing comments about Michael Jackson.
I hope one day i will finish off what Michael Jackson started. Changing The World.
Rest In Peace My Angel. (L)
