World’s Most Valuable Soccer Team Doesn’t Get Facebook

-Manchester United Icon-While they may be the world’s most valuable soccer team, the Manchester United team has no idea how to take advantage of social media most effectively. In a statement posted to the team’s website last week, the communications department stated, “The club wishes to make it clear that no Manchester United players maintain personal profiles on social networking websites.”

  1. I see nothing wrong with this at all. The entire world does not have to be on facebook. Or on twitter. We need to stop being so shocked and amazed when someone is not online on one of the current "in" sites. Life still goes on. And the poeple that are not on facebook probably have alot more real life friends and real life interactions.

  4. Actually I am fairly surprised. With so many millions of fans, and most of them certainly online, it only logically follows that they should engage their public in the best possible medium – the internet.

    Get them a social media strategy and execute it, its not that hard. Getting the fan base is the hardest part, and its already there.
