Girls Gone Wild on Facebook

Today, Fox News, the most objective news site on the planet, posted a gallery of girls that had posted drunk photos of themselves. Where did they post those photos? On Facebook of course! There are close to 5,000 photos now posted in a group called “30 Reasons Girls Should Call it A Night.” Trying to get a job a few years from now? Soon enough your boss will be checking to see if your photos show up in this group.

Close to 5,000 photos have been posted to the group so far and a few videos were also posted. If you want to find an easy way to incriminate yourself or your friends, I’d suggest getting a good picture of them after a few drinks and posting them in this group or a similar one. I knew that people enjoyed putting pictures of them after a few drinks but I didn’t realize the extent of it.

One issue with this group is that a large portion of these photos are of girls that are in high school. Parents: if your child is in high school and you want to know if they are up to no good, simply take a look at their profile because apparently they are willing to share everything with the world on there. Children: try to avoid having your parents join Facebook if you want to avoid getting in trouble! Alternatively, don’t post photos of yourself puking in a bucket. It’s probably not a good idea. Just for fun I decided to share some of the incriminating photos with you all. Check out the video below!

  5. Nick, I also noticed in the photoset, a bit of 'enterprising' ad placement.Somebody seems to have joined the group and dropped an ad for their business in; it's picture 9.I blogged about it here:http://digitalagency.typepad.com/digitalagency/….. Really enjoying your FaceBook analysis, it's enabling me to make sense of all the fast-paced change there, keep up the good work, Mike.

  7. Does anyone else see this as a double standard? Where's the "30 Reasons Guys Should Call it a Night" group? Guys post stupid drunk photos of themselves on Facebook all the time. I want to see a gallery of those on FOX News. The problem here is that women can't win. If we stay in or don't feel like partying it up to the hilt, we're prudes, boring or sticks in the mud. If we go out and live it up, we're drunken whores with deficient morals.Yes, it's bad judgment to post photos of yourself puking in a bucket or passed out in your underoos on Facebook. But half the photos in the group are of girls making silly faces or dancing together. There's nothing wrong with that other than society seems to have a problem with women having fun.I've noticed that a lot of these groups — "All Women are Crazy," anyone? — have cropped up on Facebook since they became more MySpaceified. There's a lot more misogyny going on than there used to be.

  9. Hey Teresa,In the second paragraph I stated "in this group or a similar one." I myself was wondering if somebody would make the guys version of the group. I'm sure there are some good pictures for those. I wouldn't say that this was being portrayed as all women, just the few high school girls that decided to post these pictures of themselves in one group. I'm sure some stupid guys will do the same thing as well (if they haven't already). I won't say anything else on this matter :)

  20. well it is a bubble standard showing that women can be just as dumb as men when they get drunk.

but that is not the problem here, its the fact that the kids today are only out to party and have kids and not do anything postive with there lifes.

  21. Kids back in my day liked to party and have sex too, but we didn't have technology to post it instantly all around the world. The only thing that changed is the speed of information.

  22. I don't mind going wild on facebook. What's the harm really. I have a photo on facebook that once it got out there, it was too late. So now that it's out there, there's nothing I can do. My boobs are all over the internet! lol!
