Facebook.com Wins Lawsuit Against Face-Book.com

For all of you that have had your finger accidentally slip and click the dash symbol in the middle of typing Facebook.com, you will be happy to know that soon enough it will be forwarding to the proper URL. The domain which was purchased by the YOLAPT company (your guess is as good as mine about what they do) on October 3, 2004, soon after the original Facebook.com launched.

As Doug Caverly believes that, the efforts of Facebook may have been completely unnecessary. He may be right but I have heard of owners of “creative” domains that are similar to major web entities bringing in a significant sum of cash each month. It is good news if this is the main thing that Facebook’s lawyers are currently dealing with. While Face-book.com is still up an running I would guess that it will be taken down in the near future. Maybe one of the Facebook lawyers will be forced to take a trip to the Isle of Man since that’s where YOLAPT resides. Pretty random if you ask me!
