I would think that it could be dangerous to have a phone number on Facebook, even if the user has an account that is used for business purposes. Posting your address and full name can be a problem too, since any information about anyone can be obtained on the internet. One can search www.switchboard.com or www.whitepages.com and get phone numbers or addresses of anyone that has a listed number, unless it is a cell phone number, which isn't listed.

I would suggest to put as little personal information as possible on a Facebook account. If someone is interested in the business, he or she can contact your friend through email and then she can deal with that person on an individual basis and give out any infromation she deems appropriate.

I never published my phone number, so there's no privacy setting for my phone number. The Android app, although I declined, still uploaded my mobile's phone book, including phone numbers that are not publicly accesible. And the conclusion of the author that it's not a bug but a feature is not correct. It's stealing private information from my mobile phone, that's what it is.

What you all don't seem to know is GOOGLE was started with help from the NSA (National Security Admin) to spy on Americans and the dorkey owner of FACEBOOK was in a Government meeting the other day..... so this info of this page is partially susceptible to being HACKED or misused by someone, a corporation, at best. Keep also in mind 84,000 websites were erased and HAD NOTHING to do with child porn, a government big lie....

I agree. I certainly do not recall ever choosing to allow ANYONE to have my phone number. I only found out it was available to my friends today, before I even saw the message about phone numbers. There are many of my FB friends who I don't want to have my personal phone number!

It will still show even if you use the above settings to "only me". I checked it and you can still see it. Facebook needs to get with the program!

Actually it is a security glitch as you can do a deep web search on a special web crawler site and once it is published on facebook it stays on the web. Try getting on to facebook by browsing from an anoymous browser; you can't. I had to go in specifically and have my daughter'sbio info erased from the web and need to continually do it from time to time. facebook is one of many that doesn't announce all the little add ons of their applications when they launch them.

I agree with most of the previous comments. It is extremely unethical to not be upfront with the fact that even people who aren't on FB and who are in your iPhone phonebook will have their information uploaded. Even if the "fix" did work to delete your contacts who is to say that FB wouldn't keep their information and use it if necessary. I'm pretty sure in their "terms and conditions" they state they can use any information that "you give them" in anyway they need to. Your information also gets sold if the company gets sold! They should have been upfront about how that feature actually works but then again... nobody would have actually used it. Something drastic needs to happen in order for FB to change this or purge that information.
