Numerous Users Reporting That Facebook Is Down

Numerous Facebook users are reporting that the site is unavailable. We’ve also been experiencing some significant delays in accessing the site this evening, with areas of the site not responding at all. While we’d expect Facebook to resolve the issue in the near future, plenty of users are actively tweeting about the downtime issues. If you happen to be based in the United States, you truly need to step away from the computer at this point! What makes this significant is that Facebook rarely experiences any downtime at all.

While refreshing the site I’ve also noticed that large portions of the site are unavailable. However if you are truly desperate to check the site, you can currently access it via mobile devices while the main site faces reliability issues. As far as we can tell Facebook has is working to restore the functionality, yet plenty of users are continuing to report that they can’t access the site. 6 days now I have not had any aps posting to my home page for me, or my friends and neighbors games. I sure can tell you when they friend someone, and when they change their profile pictures though. I am about ready to deactivate my account. All you get is the cursory, "We are not able to reply to each and every message, etc.", email! Ugh…who cares. Fix it. If you are not able to, then let people know in a general message to everyone. All you get is a blank wall from them.

Many friends have reported having problems with game feed the last few days.

Even "Pinging" the address either brings up a slow Responce or a simple time out. Too much traffic or simply a server problem… Answers on a post card.

Seems like some kind of DNS issue? 66.220.147.22 brings up the facebook login page, but you can't log in due to it attempting to rewrite the url (which, being an IP, ends up all garbled)…

The FB server can't be found at the moment. How's that possible, the concept and number of servers doing fb should completely prevent that as far as I know. CIA hacking? There was a real rise in the spread of links documenting U.S. Army war crimes the last days and weeks.

For the past week or so games have been slow but have still managed to get into facebook that is until this afternoon, it won't load at all it just keeps saying server problem.

im having the same problems but getting re-directed too virgin media web search, it wont open links too login just re-directing instead.

afew people are still login in so i guess its when ou login and retry too login back in. ive tryed all kinds of ways too login in but no luck tho

I was in the middle of an app game when I got bounced off the site…now my search engine tells me that it doesn't exist anymore. A truly horrifying thought lol. A mail out to all of the members would have been very much appreciated if they were having technical difficulties so we weren't left hanging in shock!

The site is down I have not been able to log in today. its saying the web address isnt available so maybe facebook the company have taken it down now to fix it.

Its surprising how shit it is to not be able to contact your friends on facebook because the site is down. I feel like my lifeline has vanished to the outside world lol

No access to Facebook since 0830 BST, same message every time DNS server unavailable. This also coincides with Virgin being offline for a short period this morning and losing the DSL service this morning (normally very stable, internet connectivity generally slow indicating higher than normal throughput on some of thge larger IP's.

Most likely cause:

You are not connected to the Internet.

The website is encountering problems.

There might be a typing error in the address

same with google chrome and firefox ( what is going on i cant survive without facebook even fv.com requires fb login (

which seems to be affecting a lot of people out there. I myself am not able to access Facebook since Friday. It asks me for my mobile number to confirm my identity. Once I provided it I didn't get the text with the confirmation code. When clicking on "I never got texted" it asks me to "Login to proceed". I can't Login because when I Login it asks me to provide my phone/enter the code again. Bottom line: I can't do anything at all. A lot of people out there seem to be experiencing the same problem.

Have noticed that we can no longer upload profile pictures 200 x 600 pixels. Getting a message asking us to upload something that is more of a square in shape.

Hoping that is just temporary but suspect it's probably otherwise.

It's been down for me since yesterday around 2am. Ontario, Canada. All searches lead to "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to http://www.facebook.com". I REALLY REALLY wish they would send us an email when they're updating or having issues, so I know it's NOT my computer, or settings I need to change. I probably *cause* more problems trying to 'fix' it than anything else. How hard is it, really? A little heads up? Ugh.

Also: I find it extremely ironic that there's a 'connect w/ur facebook account' button right above this box. I WISH, BUDDY.

apps.facebook.com opens my account, but doesn't do much else before choking.

m.facebook.com is what I've been using, but it's like reading a parent directory..and there's no fv/apps.
