That was quick! Less than a month after Owen Van Natta left Facebook, the company is hiring Sheryl Sandberg. Sheryl has been working as the vice president of Global Online Sales & Operations for Google. This is definitely a big blow to Google. Just last month Facebook stated that they didn’t plan on filling Owen Van Natta’s position in the near future.
While technically not the same position that Van Natta held, it was his position prior to a title reshuffle. With rumors that Mark Zuckerberg has been looking for a more mature executive team, this new hire comes as no surprise. There are little details as to the rest of the position but Kara Swisher is saying that more details will come today.

More interesting is the cross-pollination aspect. Google may well win the hearts of FB from the inside with more hiring like this.I wonder, have they hired more ex-Microsofties or ex-Googlers?
