I'm not sure what ap notifications have been turned off. I play farmville, and I still see tons of notifications. I think much of the game would be unplayable without them.

But can anyone give me an example of what has been removed? Or are they doing it in a phased approach, where they are gone from some users, but not from others?

Can someone clarify this for me?

While it's true about notification, the app developer put a reward on the app for providing email as a means for replacing it, which drive to direct spam in frontal way

[The developer put some nice wording on this, but this leave the just-click-it facebook users to vurnerable position in regard of spamming].

Whether this break the terms put by facebook for developer or not I don't know, but this is more annoying than allowing of notifications by app.

Don't forget there is another complication to shutting down Notifications.send:

Users of mobile (read: iPhone) Facebook applications no longer have any way of sending invites to their friends.

Notifications were certainly not an ideal mechanism, but they were all that's available. Now there is nothing. The only way to send invites is via a full-fledged web browser… not very useful if your app has only a small web presence.

The following parts is so funny and ironic!

* Facebook fights spam

* Facebook makes things more controlled

So ironic!! – it is more like past the buck! from Facebook own view they might think so!

But now the bigger picture!! Spam will be uncontrolable as now users via developers will be the burden of spam, FB can not really stop Developers spamming whatever Facebook policy now is as quite a few are requesting users emails themselves so once they got the addresses they can do what they like!

The 2nd part Facebook more control – not really as developer do have more control now not Facebook!

Thank Allah there's no more notifications. Devs need to remember that users are the most important part, and the great majority of people get annoyed by the constant notifications. Facebook was SO much better in 2006, way before applications even existed.
