Distracting Beach Babes Virus Goes After Facebook Users

-Warning Icon-Facebook has been getting pounded by a new group of video viruses over the past couple weeks and the attackers don’t appear to be slowing down at all. The latest incarnation of the attack comes in the form of a video posted on your friends’ walls which states “Distracting Beach Babes”. If you click the link you are brought to a page which gets you to download malware and ultimately repost the non-existent video to your Facebook profile.

The messages states the following:

<name>, this is hilarious! lol :P :P :P Distracting Beach Babes [HQ] Length: 5:32

It’s the same as videos which recently spread around Facebook and got users to click on a link which claimed it was the “Sexiest Video Ever”. As usual, Facebook users are spreading the information about the virus to their friends. While we haven’t found any other instance of the attack remaining, there are plenty of users who became victims of the attack.

As usual, the best action to take is to run a virus scan on your computer. Also, if you see this message on your Facebook wall make sure to delete it as soon as possible.

  1. I did not connect, rather hid one of those damn videos on Facebook. I can not get rid of this malicious virus which will not let me run a virus scan to rid it! In addition, I am having trouble going on line through Internet Explorer because of this virus. Any resolutions would be appreciated!
