Chris Pirillo Entertains a Facebook Naysayer

Chris Pirillo posted a discussion of him and a viewer, Mona, who has been on Facebook for a long time. She is pretty angry about the new design. She’s also mad about some of the viral applications as well as a number of other things. Honestly, she goes on a long rant about the new Facebook. What’s really interesting is how long people can talk about Facebook in general.

Personally, I don’t think this is the end of Facebook but many of the discussion points are worthy ones.

  1. I don't get why Chris agrees with her. The new interface is great! The internet changes daily, so you can't expect it to stay the same forever. This goes beyond Facebook even. Its the sites that don't keep up that end up in obscurity. Maybe it's just a fine line between frequent change and drastic change.

  2. Oh wow, she sounds like the Michelle Bachmann of the internet. First she said you have so many of these useless apps then when it was explained to her the adoption significantly dropped, she complains that they are hard to find? She automatically says everything is hard to find.

Removing a friend is hard? Come on, how hard is it to go to the person's profile and see the blatant link that said "Remove from friends." Better yet clicking the X button that shows up everywhere.

Look, if you don't like it, stop using it. She sounds like she paid her hard earned money for facebook. I'm not a fan of myspace so I just stopped using it. I'm not a complete fan of the new look and my usage probably dropped. If this evoked so much emotion to her, I think she needs to get a life outside facebook.

  3. Is it just me or is she the only one who doesn't make sense here?

  4. I truly do not understand all the complaints about new fbook. It's a very clean design that cuts down on all the ridiculous clutter that began to gather on many pages due to the applications.
