Today I’m pleased to announce the first annual Social Developer Summit, being hosted June 29 in San Francisco at the Palace Hotel. The event is for developers building and scaling social applications and the speakers will be present on a technical level. Rather than high level discussion, we want developers to learn from the best about how to improve their apps and scale them to millions of users.

Right now we are in the process of lining up speakers and sponsors. So far we’ve locked in our first five speakers and will have more speaker announcements in the coming week or two.

Arin Sarkissian, for example, is leading up efforts to scale Digg while leveraging Cassandra. He will be giving a complete talk about the hurdles that they’ve faced at Digg and some of the best practices developed. This is just a sample of the quality of presentations at this event.
