Sensational Facebook Novel To Be Released Next Month With Movie In The Works

-Accidental Billionaires Cover-There’s been a lot of buzz about the soon to be released book, “The Accidental Billionaires” by Ben Mezrich. It’s understandable considering Facebook’s ongoing growth and the book’s salacious plot. According to Amazon, the book is a story about Mark Zuckerberg and co-Founder Eduardo Saverin’s path to success and the conflicts between the founders that are created along the way. There are all sorts of ridiculous stories about what’s included in this book, but one thing is for sure: it’s not necessarily historically accurate.

That hasn’t stopped the book from being placed in the “Business & Culture, Biographies” section of Amazon. Yesterday it was revealed that the book is being turned into a movie and is reportedly going into production sometime this summer (although Reuters claims that it will be before the end of the year). Regardless of the historical accuracy of this story, there’s no doubt that it will continue to build a lot of buzz.

Facebook has not spoken about the book but according to Caroline McCarthy, the company “isn’t too pleased”. It’s understandable as there has been tons of controversy surrounding the founding of Facebook including numerous legal battles with individuals who claim having a role in the creation of the site. With an estimated 250 million users and growing, everybody wants to get a piece of the action.

Variety claims that the director could end up being David Fincher, who directed “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. Will the new movie “The Social Network” become next year’s oscar winner? Who knows but it’s clear that the team that’s working with Aaron Sorkin, the author of the script, is moving quickly in order to take advantage of all the buzz surrounding Facebook. Will “The Accidental Billionaires” be on your summer reading list?
