In the past hour I’ve noticed multiple users who have posted a message stating “My Ex-Girlfriend Cheated on me… Here is my revenge!” The image was not of their ex though. As a curious individual, I decided to click on the link to see if it was a virus or something else. The result was that I ended up posting the article to my profile and now it’s spreading around Facebook.
The key here is to not click the link if you see it on your friends’ profile or on your homepage. By using some creative CSS and an iFrame, this developer has triggered the “share” event every time a person clicks on the image displayed on the page. It’s a really creative trick, and one that I’m sure Facebook will block in a short amount of time but you should definitely be aware of the issue.
If you see an image like the one pictured below show up on your newsfeed or your profile: don’t click it!!

Thank you for this post! I have shared this with all my friends.
Thank you! I noticed the worm right above your article, so I managed to react on time.
Huh, I clicked that link when it appeared on your profile and nothing happened on my page, lol.
Are you able to remove the post from your profile by clicking “Remove” near the update?
crap, is it a virus? or just annoying? I clicked it :S
But does it do anything else than post on your facebook? I mean does it hijack your facebook or mess up your pc/mac?
Good Work!
Thanks for the warning, I’ll pass the word. Or maybe that’s the worm?

Hello, I also noticed this. Users using on Firefox using Noscript are immune to this thanks to the clickjacking protection.
Clickjacking is a common evil on Facebook, I already spotted them on Facebook apps more than 6 months ago. They are often used to trigger posting on your wall without your consent.
Sounds like clickjacking: http://theharmonyguy.com/2009/10/14/the-dangers-of-clickjacking-with-facebook/
Can’t blame you for clicking it…
clicked on it and realised straight away something was wrong afterwards as it posted the link on my page without me wanting to. Switched off my internet connection and ran virus scan. My computer blue screened on me… started safe mode, ran virus scan, didnt find anything. started in normal mode, my laptop wouldnt start… had to go to previous restore point. sounds like i got affected by this more than anyone else. Or perhaps the blue screen is pure coincidence…? you mention worm in the title and yet don’t say much more about it?! Is it a worm? there was a button (labelled “VIEW”) on the page which i clicked… i m on vista and use Chrome…
thanks guys
That is horrible, thanks for the notice
GOD…. thanks a lot for informing.
