Last night Facebook announced that a new version of Adobe’s ActionScript library for the Facebook Platform was released. For those developers building robust flash applications, this new library will most definitely be a welcomed upgrade. According to Justin Bishop, the new library provides “support for translations and the latest Facebook Platform APIs, like fql.multiQuery, the Comments API, and Inbox API.”

While the first iteration of the Flash library was released back in March, Facebook and Adobe have continued to provide ongoing support. As such we’ve seen continued growth in flash based applications, especially games which have become the staple of the Facebook platform.

While there are major changes coming to the Facebook Platform over the next few months, Facebook continues to provide developer support to take advantage of an ever expanding set of APIs.
