Next week Facebook will be launching at least two new products. One is the revised Facebook fan pages which one source has told us will launch on or before Friday most likely. The other product we can’t talk about yet unfortunately. Facebook hasn’t made many big changes since the release of the new site design so many businesses are eagerly anticipating the new Pages product upgrade.
A large number of companies and individuals have create Facebook Pages for promotional purposes and a few have actually leveraged the Pages product to increase revenue for their business. One of the most anticipated components of the upgrade is that the new Pages product will be able to perform many of the activities currently available to general user profiles.
One downside of the new pages design is that applications will once again be relegated to the “Boxes” tab. Yes, some applications can reside within the left-hand sidebar but the majority of application will now take a secondary position to the profile feed. There are still a lot of unanswered questions when it comes to the Pages redesign but by the end of the week most of them should be answered.
We assume that all companies with large Facebook Pages have been notified of the change so they can make the necessary adjustments. The majority of page owners however have not been informed of the pending change. Look to the early week for the other new Facebook product to launch.

any *hints* on the other product?
a post to tell us you can’t tell us something. i’ve been meaning to slim down my feeds soon anyway, thanks.
Is the overall feel for this change positive? I have some clients that aren’t interested in someone else making changes where they invested so much money. (ie. Custom fbml boxes, advertising, custom apps etc.)
Do you have any sneak peak screen shots?
Dana
Justin, you’re a loser. The post talks about the new fan pages being launched this week. And as for the other thing, you wouldn’t even know it existed if he hadn’t mentioned it. Of course he can’t tell us, because it’s a secret that I’m sure Facebook would be pissed if he let out. At least he is letting us know SOMETHING is coming.
geez.
What a waste of a comment Justin.
Looking forward to see the changes to the pages!
It is the developer verification program.
Can you describe how big is “large Facebook Page”. By numbers perhaps?
This is so exciting.
great info, great article, thanks

Upset about a “loser”

So long and good life Justin

I can’t wait to see what changes they have made to the pages. They are so static and virtually lame as they are now. I figured it was only a matter of time before they started charging for them…I wonder if that is part of the “big” announcement?
