A blog post today to Facebook developers highlighted that they have yet to remove infinite sessions and also that all users are slated to have access to the new profile in “mid-September”, a little behind schedule for Facebook. The new Facebook profile roll-out has taken significantly longer for Facebook but it’s clear that they are trying to optimize the site and improve the user experience.
So far Facebook has had a pretty smooth transition but everyday I read about a few people who don’t like the new Facebook layout. One group I previously wrote about this month has grown to over 50,000 users. This is a really small number though when you compare it to the more than 20 million people that now have access to the new Facebook design.
Whether or not you like the new design, it won’t be a choice as to whether or not you make the shift. What “mid-September” qualifies as is left for interpretation but it’s clear that Facebook is taking their time when it comes to making the shift over. Are you in favor of the new design or do you not like the changes? Do think this is much ado about nothing?

I LOVE the new design & I really want it to become mandatory ASAP as I have just added a new application which isn't displayed on the old Facebook - only on the new Facebook - & I want my friends to be able to see the application (most of them are using the old Facebook because they are like the many other idiots out there who 'don't like change').
and in October new products for facebook advertising

There is a lot to like in the new Facebook, a lot to not like. It has NOT been a smooth transition though, from a developer standpoint. I gave up submitting bugs. The documentation is minimal or incorrect in areas. Have you seen how many discussions there are on news feed generation!? And forcing developers to maintain 2 versions of their apps I would hardly consider “pretty smooth”.

That group has over 250k members. They all despise the New Facebook.
Love the new design, so much better thought out than before. People are opposed to change for no reason whatsoever most times. It's the same people that complain about issues with current design (whether we are talking about facebook or something else) and then when you go to change it they complain again.
You can't win, you never can, just move forward and minimize complaints, but don't try and rid yourself of it. You'll never get anywhere that way.
I don't really like the new design. I liked how in the old design everyone could see what groups I was in and who I was a fan of (pages) on the front page of my profile. Now I have to dig around to find this information (I still haven't found where my groups are located). It makes it harder to follow things besides just individual friends. Also, I import my Flickr feed into my minifeed, and in the old design, it would show thumbnails of the pictures. This no longer happens.
The new design seems to entail more clicking and scrolling to find the basic information about somebody that used to be available at a glance. I personally don't like that, nor do I like the additional white space and scattered arrangement of things on the page under the “new.”
I *do* like the “photos” tab, though. Otherwise, I think it looks too “loose.” I like change just fine, when it's for the better.
I hate the new design!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please retain the old one back or something better's gonna take over and facebook will be over!!!!
