Facebook Mini-Feed Comments Get An Update

Posted by Nick O'Neill on July 15th, 2008 10:03 AM

Last month Facebook released the first version of mini-feed comments. I claimed that it was another step for Facebook toward FriendFeed functionality. Apparently not enough people were commenting though because Facebook has since made a slight change as MG Siegler pointed out yesterday. Rather than displaying a plus sign which potentially didn’t signify “comments” for some users, so Facebook has decided to go ahead and spell it out.

Interest article but yes - Facebook is a different type of community than Friend Feed. FF is solely based on communication/conversation whereas Facebook is more so to share photos and converse with old friends. While similar, they certainly cater to different causes in our opinion - thus making it so that the comment feature may not be as popular as Facebook anticipated.

it was obvious what the button was for… if i didn't use it it was because leaving a comment on “John is now friends with Sam” just makes no sense at all.

I feel I should let you people know as I delete all Dank Applications from my face book account, Many of my friends are also deleting these applications. Why, you may ask, well ask Jason. From what I gather it has been mostly his doing that is the cause of this. Many of my friends are very sad to do this but we all feel his behavior has been less than professional. Deleting our comments and when he does answer he makes us feel that we do not matter just the almighty dollar. So we are hitting back the only way we can to slow Jason's dollars. As more of us leave all your applications we are telling our friends why we are doing it. The power of our combined voices will carry further than you realize.
I thought all of you should know what is happening to your company.
