Facebook Faces Downtime

This afternoon the Facebook site went down for a period of time. Currently I am still not able to access the site. The good thing? Facebook going down qualifies as a news story. Ill update this post with more information shortly.

Thank you for posting! I've been going nuts trying to figure out if it was just me. I was in the middle of posting on someone's wall when the problems started. When I hit post it said “Wall not available” which was weird. Then I tried to go to my home page and the next thing I knew the whole site was down. I'm just glad I semi-know what's going on now. I'm not used to this from Facebook, it reeks of Myspace…

Any updates on this? I know it's obviously back up, but is there any further information regarding the downtime?
