Facebook Warning System Goes Crazy

Facebook’s warning system has been acting up over the past few days. I have received multiple inquiries from users that claim that with little activity, they are being warned. Jason Garber has posted a screenshot of the warning that he received after making one wall posting. I had another person email me after posting on multiple friends’ walls but after a delayed posting time.

So what the heck is going on with their warning system? There has been no statement from Facebook about this but something in their system is definitely acting screwy. I’ve never had my account disabled but I’ve heard of people sending too many messages or posting on too many walls in a short period of time. They ended up with a disabled account and reduced their “spammy” activity.

I know other people that try to manipulate the system by thinking like a computer! Think of your average number of messages sent, number of inbox messages and the total number of your friends fitting into an equation. That’s most likely how the Facebook system works. So for those that don’t have 5,000 friends, you may not want to post too frequently. Apparently some people can’t post anything though. Have your received a warning like the one displayed below?

Yep, while poking back… :o)

i had my account permanently disabled a few weeks ago. I was trying to win the egghunt application and wrote a script. The next day my account was disabled. I turned the script off and asked them to reactivate my account. They did, but over the next couple days, my account got disabled again twice (with no script, just regular usage), and now they've permanently disabled my account. all my photos, friends, notes, videos, etc, all gone. i was pretty pissed.

I got the dreaded pink box yesterday after sending less than 10 messages in quick succession, so number of messages within a certain time period should be one of the parameters.

Yeah I have had this warning before…And the sad thing is…I was just replying to messages…Facebook needs to change up the way they determine “spammy” activity compared to true genuine contact and relationship building activity.

Me too… I had been answering home composting queries on Organic Gardening 101, and then joined two new groups so I could post a message about a questionnaire that I'm inviting people to fill in… and the following day when I logged in the the composting discussion, I got the above message. I messaged one of the Facebook organisers (Tom Whitnah) and he asked for more details but then messaged me with this link, so Facebook are aware of the weird behaviour.

Yeah, this happened to me replying to someone's wall post

Our Jason Preston had the same problem yesterday. Apparently it's pretty widespread.

actually i was asking my group friends if they want to receive mesages or not before posting information mesages

my question is …

if facebook reactivates my account all the topics pictures and videos that i uploaded and disabled in groups come back or do i need to re-upload and open topics by myselve?

regards

They don't bother with the warning anymore. They just disable your account and ignore attempts to communicate with them

Hey there,

I've been going nuts on this having had my account disabled without warning, for no apparent reason. Here's the message:

Your account has been disabled by an administrator. If you have any questions or concerns, you can visit our FAQ page here.

No pre-warnings, messages etc… just the whole 2 years (750 friends, 60 or so photo albums, and a whole load of groups that I administer) deleted in 1 go, and email enquiries return a 'this email is blocked' message. Their link for reason why accounts are deleted states that it's for breaking terms and conditions, offensive behavious etc… about the most offensive thing I've posted was the suggestion that Abba's music is quite cool. Hmmm.

I've had no responses from them via my other email. Very frustrating. Anyone any ideas?!

Craig

Its my friends birthday today so I sent him around 6 gifts & 3 messages in about 3 hours.
I have receieved 6 warnings, & Im not doing anything that I am aware is wrong.
I have reset my password as they told me to, & still im getting warnings.
i don’t want my FB account disabled, I love FB, but I don’t know how you are supposed to contact them.
I dont understand the help page at all.
Please help me, Im really upset.

Thank you

Row

I can tell you right now, my time with FB is going to be short lived. I cannot accept a site that has the same complaints and will not address it. What’s the point if you can’t make contact with your friends. I think they are just setting people up with pay vs limited account activity. They can count me out the first time my account is disabled. There are people I need to contact right now but cannot becsause of the stupid warning.

It just happened to me as I was responding to a comment to a post on MY OWN WALL. got the pink slip warning saying I was engaging in behaviour that others ‘MIGHT’ find objectionable. I was given a menu to choose from as to what I was doing that triggered the warning. I had 2 related reasons. 1t was the game I was recruiting in (only 25 to 30 people a day maximum, usually only 20 per day. I did send emails to them as they joined thanking them for joining so I put down ‘chatting’ and was sent to a page telling me that I should only ‘chat’ using the chat tool. Since many people have chat turned off, email is the only way to communicate. Fbook is supposed to be about social networking and they put these games out there for us to play, but then WARN US that we are abusing their precious system. I am deleting all emails that I receive and hoping to find the person online to tell them not to email me anymoe as I am now an email spammer according to Fbook. this outfit just plain stinks.

Today, for the first time, I found the message about warming system that I have been going too fast of adding many friends without of knowing that people.
