This is exactly where Facebook is heading. I think the impact long term is still going to be profound, but we are all just getting used to concept now and the ideas don't seem as buzzworthy. In fact, they really should be receiving an award for their great work over the past 18 months; newsfeed, mini-feed, platform and Beacon (the later may not have been a hit, but from a technical standpoint it's pretty cool, and I'm sure a lot of work went in to it).
