Thanks to a Facebook’s extended status updates, Twitter has improved their Facebook application so that your profile status is updated via Twitter. There had been a few developers that had developed syncing applications to perform a similar function but this new feature makes it extremely easy to update your Facebook status. For anyone that uses Twitter, you know how useful this new feature truly is.
Personally, I never really update my Facebook status. Honestly, I rarely update my twitter account but I at least do so more frequently. The only downside of the new feature is that it may take 30 minutes for your status to be updated. Aside from this, functionality is pretty seamless. Twitter has just become the Facebook status management tool. Will you stop updating your Facebook status now and let Twitter do all the work?
Thanks to Joe Grossberg at Twittersweet for the scoop!

Sweet!
Thanks for that, I’ve been looking for a way to do this since I started using facebook a few weeks ago.
It’d make sense now if there was a way to stop the twitter updates appearing in the mini feed
oops, it looks like you can do that - I just didn’t find the settings page.

This is all well and good, but why do I have to supply my Twitter password to enable this update? The feed is openly available to anyone who wants to get it so why the authentication element for Facebook updates?
Sorry no external ’system’ get my passwords.

That’s quite funny. As things stand now my FB status feeds to FriendFeed then on to Twitter. Can see this initiating an endless feedback loop. Interesting
Heys, not sure if this help’s but no harm posting. Had problems with selective posting and account mixups. Found my solution with this guy’s tutorial:
http://cogito.faii.net/linking-facebook-to-twitter-tutorial/
He details using this other app that helps post selectively only.
However he says it doesn’t work if your twitter feed is on private/safe mode.
Cheers and hope it helps!
