Om Malik posted earlier this morning about yet another Facebook application ad network. The network is called Lookery and is being started as a partnership between Scott Rafer (the creator of MyBlogLog, Feedster, and others) and David Cancel (the co-founder of Compete.com). It is pretty impressive how fast the Facebook application market is moving. Within 3 months there will be an application for just about everything on Facebook. It is pretty nuts how quickly the Facebook application market is becoming saturated. What is cool about the Facebook gold rush is that it will be practically mimicked each time a new platform opens up. Look for the coming year to be the year of opening platforms and the development of widgets. The ultimate business will revolve around creating a platform that allows your widgets to function on all the social network platforms and start pages.
