XMe App Proves Popular With Facebook Users

A Cambridge University student, Timothy Green, was tired of poking people and wanted something else to do to people. In turn the XMe Facebook application was born. XMe enables users to pick an action that they would like other users to do to them. When I last checked the adoption rate for this application was around 400 every couple minutes! By the end of today the application will have easily over 300,000 users. While users can choose to write less appropriate actions, the majority have chosen to add “Hug Me” to their profile. So if you are interested in letting other users provide acts of your choice on your profile, go check out the XMe application.
Update
Mashable has posted some interesting news about XMe.
To make the story of X Me more interesting, though, its creator Timothy Green was invited to join the RockYou team after X Me became wildly popular with Facebook users. A freshman at Cambridge, Green is on the up and up. Implications around the web would indicate that X Me has been acquired by RockYou as well, which would give the slide show company three of the top ten spots for Facebook apps since their launch just over a week ago. Ironically, Green’s own profile is not only blank, but still bears only the default “Poke Him!â€
