Facebook: Open Up “How I Know You”

You go to confirm a friend request on Facebook and suddenly you are presented with a list of options to describe how you know the person. The current options are extremely limited. Both Mike Arrington and Dave Winer have already commented on this issue. So how can Facebook solve the problem? Easy! Add one more field called “Other” and allow the user to check in how they met the person. While “met randomly” is close to sufficient, is it really accurate? If I met someone at a business networking function “met randomly” is not really an accurate portrayal of how we met. So Facebook, simply add the “Other” function and all will be well. Do you have any other options that you think would be better?
